Due to the current health crisis, many of us who love to travel are getting itchy feet,  wondering when and even if we will be able to go to the places we want to visit. I was looking forward to sailing in Greece in May, perhaps a trip to the US in June, and a return to Sicily in September. Now? Who knows?

There have been other times in my life where I’ve planned a trip, times when I’ve read everything I could find, booked the perfect place to stay, and then in the end due to circumstances, wasn’t able to go. But I’ve never regretted the effort and the dreaming, because for me, planning is nearly as enjoyable as actually going.

For now, though, we have to stay home, stay safe, and stay well, for our sake, for the safety and well-being of others.  But while waiting out this crisis, we can still dream, and even plan a little for what we might do when this is over. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of inspiration from Mary’s stories and photographs. — Himself — April 18, 2020
